Behind every print ad or commercial is a great Art Buyer taking care of details.
Mainly, you collaborate with the creative team to develop visual aspects of the advertisement.
You choose photographers, illustrators and models; purchase stock art when necessary; hire stylists; manage budgets; oversee studio and on-location shoots; and take care of copyrights.
You can work for many clients, from advertising agencies to wealthy individuals, but your core responsibility will always be the same: to find pieces of art that matches a set of given specifications. At an agency, you will be collaborating closely with your partner, the Art Director.
